What It Covers

Tires are the only part of the car actually touching the road, and their condition affects braking distance, handling, and fuel economy. We mount, balance, and rotate tires, and check tread depth and wear pattern for signs of alignment or suspension issues underneath.

An alignment adjusts the angles of the wheels relative to each other and the road, which affects tire wear, straight-line tracking, and how the car handles a turn. A car can drive fine and still be out of alignment; the tell is usually uneven tire wear or a subtle pull, not something dramatic.

Signs To Watch For

• Car pulls to one side on a flat, straight road
• Steering wheel is off-center when driving straight
• Uneven tire wear, especially on the inside or outside edge
• Vibration at highway speed
• Tire pressure warning light staying on after topping up

Why It Matters

Misaligned wheels wear tires unevenly and faster, which means replacing tires sooner than you should have to. Under-inflated or badly worn tires also increase stopping distance and reduce grip in wet or winter conditions, which in Calgary is most of the year.
