What It Covers

Engine oil breaks down over time and mileage, losing its ability to lubricate and carry heat away from moving parts. We use the oil weight and type your vehicle's manufacturer specifies, not a one-size-fits-all oil, and check the filter, drain plug, and surrounding area for leaks while the car's up.

Beyond engine oil, coolant, transmission fluid, and differential fluid all break down or get contaminated over time too. Old coolant loses its corrosion protection and freeze/boil-over range; old transmission fluid loses its friction properties and can cause harsh or delayed shifting. We check condition, not just mileage, before recommending a flush.

Signs To Watch For

• Oil change reminder light or message on the dash
• Engine noise that's louder or more noticeable than usual
• Coolant that looks rusty, murky, or has debris in it
• Transmission shifting harshly, hesitating, or slipping
• Visible fluid spots under the car

Why It Matters

Running an engine on old, broken-down oil accelerates wear on the internals, camshaft, bearings, and everything else that depends on that oil film. It's the cheapest maintenance item on the car and the most consequential to skip. The same logic applies to transmission and differential fluid: they're not meant to last the life of the vehicle, and skipping them shortens the life of parts that are far more expensive to replace than the fluid itself.
